A film screened last week at SXSW has, for the first time, revealed footage of Kurt Cobain and his then-wife Courtney Love singing an unreleased song they wrote together, along with former Hole drummer Patty Schemel.
Footage of the group singing "Stinking Of You" was uncovered for the documentary "Hit So Hard". The film follows the story of Schemel, her battle with drug addiction, and the deaths of Kurt Cobain and Hole bassist Kristen Pfaff.
In the film, Schemel also explains how she left the band after a session drummer was called in to play her parts for the 1998 album "Celebrity Skin". In another interview, Love claims Cobain chose to spend time with the Hole members because he "hated" his own band, Nirvana.
The original Hole lineup are set to reunite for the first time in 13 years for the New York premiere of the film on March 28th, which includes interviews with former Hole members Melissa Auf de Maur and Eric Erlandson.
We last reported that Courtney wanted to snort Cobain’s ashes with Neil Strauss, who wrote the Motley Crue biography "The Dirt". Strauss politely declined, saying "I don’t think that would be the right thing to do."
