Beatles Beat Queen In Poll
it’s official: The Beatles are the most influential band of the last half-century.
According to GodisintheTVZine.co.uk, the Fab Four topped a British poll by Zippo asking which artist or band had the largest sphere of influence over the past 50 years. The Beatles won 27.4% of the vote.
Rounding out the Top 5: Queen with 19.6%, The Rolling Stones with 10.5%, David Bowie with 4.7% and Jimi Hendrix with 4.4%.
This isn’t the only poll that Zippo, a company famous for their unique lighters, has conducted.
Queen’s "Bohemian Rhapsody" was voted the #1 song to wave your lighter to (followed by Led Zeppelin’s "Stairway To Heaven").
Oasis were voted The Beatles of the Noughties. And Kings Of Leon were voted the band most likely to replicate the achievements of Led Zeppelin.
