Incubus fans are already keen to get at their new album release pegged for July 12th. But if that’s too far, don’t fret - the band are releasing their new single "Adolescents" today, and you can hear it in the player below.
As we reported yesterday, the band commented on the forthcoming album "If Not Now, When?" saying "The long awaited 6th studio album from Incubus is completed! True to the Incubus legacy, this record is nothing like its predecessor, but still maintains the quintessential Incubus vibe."
The song is a beautiful swirl of guitars, though some might be disappointed to hear elements of auto-tune on Brandon Boyd’s vocal. With his experience, there’s surely no real need for it, and as a style choice it seems inappropriate.
It is also worth noting how many leading bands and musicians have taken to the Soundcloud platform, which hosts the audio embedded below. Soundcloud was pegged the "MySpace Killer" from an early age, but it seems that the last 6 months have really proved this theory, with many official "leaks" being conducted on the platform.
Their success is likely due to a combination of flexible sharing options, the ability to switch of downloads and instead re-direct to a paid version, and that blogs (like UG) can embed the music and enrich our own posts. It was only yesterday that we posted the entire Foo Fighters album legally with Soundcloud for you to enjoy.
So Incubus fans - are you happy with the new track?
