Red Hot Chili Peppers Preparing For World Tour
After announcing in November they would be headlining 2011's Rock In Rio alongside Metallica and Snow Patrol, Red Hot Chili Peppers are now getting closer to making a full South American tour official, which could form part of the band's World Tour in 2011 & 2012.
Vocalist Anthony Keidis's father John took to his Facebook page to drop the news that RHCPs will be touring through South America, likely in the Autumn.
Keidis senior wrote, "For all those Argentinean fans that have been asking me if they will be playing there...Anthony says that they will have shows in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil."
The Californian rockers are currently working on the follow up to 2006's "Stadium Arcadium" and have been in the studio since September 2010 with the record now in the mixing process. It is as yet untitled although it has been reported Keidis is toying with the idea of the absurd "Dr Johnny Skinz's Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-Head" as a title, a reference to a friends acid trip, stating.
"He was reminiscing about one of his legendary acid trips, and told us that he had been playing a sold-out show to the planets and moons, and his number one hit was, well, that title."
The album will see Josh Klinghoffer replace John Frusciante on guitar and is being produced by Rick Rubin. A release date is yet to be confirmed.
Red Hot Chili Peppers alsod release a limited edition red 7" vinyl with their cover of The Ramones "Havana Affair" on one side and the original on the other. Only 6,500 copies have been printed. Record Store Day was on Saturday 16th April.
